Application Equipment & Calibration

Pesticide application equipment is as important to a pest control program as the selection of the pesticide itself. By proper selection and use of application equipment, you can often prevent problems such as drift, non-uniform coverage, failure of a pesticide to reach the target, and exposure to non-target areas.

Calibration is the adjustment of a machine to make it deliver the right amount of spray or dry material to a given area. There are several methods of calibration, but all involve determining how much spray is being delivered and then adjusting settings as needed to give the correct rate. To be sure that your application equipment is releasing the right amount of pesticide, take time to calibrate it carefully and correctly.
